In addition to History, the program can be used to support students' work in English, language skills, history, and social studies.

Designed for use at middle school levels,
Interactive History of the United States is also being used at the high school level with students who need additional emphasis on reading and writing skills. The program is also suitable for use with advanced fifth and sixth grade students.

The content was developed by two recognized educators and researchers: Dr. Myra Linden, and Dr. Arthur Whimbey.

Dr. Myra J. Linden devoted 35 years to teaching English and speech in high schools and community colleges. During her years of teaching she conducted research and tested instructional theories. Her published works include (with Whimbey) Why Johnny Can't Write: How to Improve Writing Skills.

Dr. Whimbey has served as keynote speaker or invited speaker for numerous national educational conferences including: the
Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development; the National Association of Secondary-School Principals; the International Reading Association; the National Association of Developmental Education; the Michigan Developmental Educational Consortium; the Navajo Area School Board Association; and Phi Delta Kappa.

New Intelligence also publishes other
TRAC SL-based reading and language software, including Outstanding African-Americans: A Text Reconstruction Program for Improving Reading, Writing, and Reasoning Skills, and Outstanding Hispanic-Americans: A Text Reconstruction Program for Improving Reading, Writing, and Reasoning Skills.
